Bertil Egger Beck works in the DG RTD unit on open science and research infrastructures.
He is responsible for the role of European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) in the European data ecosystem and the European Research Area action on an EU copyright and data legislative and regulatory framework fit for research. Moreover, he is overseeing the implementation of the Horizon Europe-funded project on facilitating intellectual property management to support open science (IP4OS).
Before joining the Commission, he worked as Senior European Affairs Adviser at the Brussels office of DI - Confederation of Danish Industry. He represented DI in various international business associations, including Business at OECD (BIAC), BusinessEurope, European Services Forum, DigitalEurope and Orgalim.
Bertil holds a MSc in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen. During his studies he did an exchange programme at Boston College. The focus of his studies was international relations, international political economy, and multilateral institutions.
