Amanda frequently provides training to knowledge transfer professionals through the European Association for Knowledge Transfer Professionals (ASTP), PraxisAuril, and the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM). She has also served on the Board of Directors for ASTP as VP for Professional Development and is currently the Chair of the Conference Programming Committee. She is also on the UCD Consult advisory board and a member of the UCPH Innovation Prize Committee.
Previously, Amanda worked at the University of Nottingham’s School of Pharmacy, overseeing a newly established interdisciplinary Doctoral Training Centre. As Project Manager, she coordinated the PhD program and facilitated collaborations between academics and industry, focusing on collaborative research projects in targeted therapeutics. She also managed a government-funded project aimed at enhancing researchers’ transferable skills. Additionally, she has experience working with the Food Standards Agency in scientific policy and with Isis Research (now part of IPSOS), where she planned, implemented, and analysed large international studies on HIV therapy and advised the pharmaceutical industry.
Amanda holds a PhD in HIV research from the MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the University of Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Enterprise as a Consultancy Associate in January 2008 and was promoted to Head of Consultancy in February 2015.
