Dr. Deborah Mireles is an Innovation Training Manager at the University of Galway, where she leads innovation and commercialisation training for researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders.
She specialises in knowledge exchange, research commercialisation, and innovation ecosystems, supporting the development of impactful innovation pathways across STEM, Social Sciences, Arts, and Health.
She holds a Ph.D. in International Business Management from the University of Galway, where her research focused on subsidiary innovation and strategy influence in U.S.-owned high-technology multinationals in Ireland. Her work explored the headquarters-subsidiary relationship, examining how subsidiaries drive innovation, influence corporate strategy, and engage in knowledge transfer within MedTech and ICT industries.
As the project coordinator for the EU-funded INNOV-8-2-CREATE programme, Deborah played a key role in developing a scalable innovation training toolkit, now disseminated through ASTP to universities and technology transfer offices across Europe. She has collaborated internationally with the University of Turin and Riga Technical University to enhance entrepreneurial training and commercialisation pathways.
