With a degree in Environmental Sciences and a master's degree in Energy Law, Rivera belongs to the Superior Body of Civil Administrators of the State. She has more than 20 years professional experience in International Relations and spent the first four years of her work in France, at the Council of Europe, in the field of cooperation and human rights and in the consulting.
Since January 2020, she has been Director of the Cabinet at the General Secretariat of Innovation at the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, advisor of the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) and President of the Permanent Commission of the Spanish Space Agency.
Likewise, she worked from August 2021 to September 2022 for the European Commission as a leading national expert at the European Environment Agency, in monitoring climate change with earth observation data and products, as well as in the preparation of indicators. and data for decision making.
She previously served as an advisory member in the Cabinet of the Third Vice President of the Government and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. She has also been a member of the Management Board of the European Environment Agency and coordinator of the User Forum of the Earth Observation Programme, Copernicus for six years.
