Anuar joined ASTP in February 2018
Anuar is the driving force behind all ASTP events, leveraging his extensive experience to ensure each event is flawlessly executed and tailored to meet diverse needs. With a career spanning over 25 years in the hospitality industry, both in Malaysia and Europe, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in event management, logistics, and client relations. His deep understanding of the hospitality sector, combined with his professional background in both the business and non-profit sectors, allows him to craft exceptional experiences for a wide range of audiences.
In his role as Events & Programme Manager at ASTP, Anuar is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of a variety of events, from conferences and trainings to masterclasses, webinars and directors’ forum as well as social events. His meticulous attention to detail ensures that every aspect of the event—from venue selection to program development—is executed smoothly. Whether managing large-scale events or more intimate gatherings, he always ensures that the programme is engaging, efficient, and memorable.
Before joining ASTP, Anuar honed his skills as the Marketing Manager for the BeNeLux market at the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board, based in The Hague, Netherlands. This role, which involved strategic marketing and event coordination, allowed him to develop a keen sense of cross-cultural communication and international outreach. His global perspective has been an invaluable asset in his current position, where he works with a diverse set of clients and partners worldwide.
Anuar's favourite quote, “In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun” – Mary Poppins, encapsulates his philosophy on event management. He believes that while professionalism and attention to detail are crucial, incorporating an element of enjoyment and creativity into every event makes it truly memorable for attendees.
Outside of his professional life, Anuar is passionate about reading, cooking, shopping, and travelling, and cherishes the opportunity to spend time with his international circle of friends. Fluent in English, Malay, and Indonesian, with a working knowledge of Dutch, Anuar has a unique ability to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds, enhancing his ability to create inclusive and impactful events.
