Helen Eenmaa holds an LL.M. and a J.S.D. from Yale Law School. After graduating from Yale in 2013, she joined the faculty of the University of Tartu School of Law in Estonia and founded the Information Technology Law Research and Study Programme. In 2018, she was elected a Member of the Estonian Young Academy of Sciences, and in 2020 to lead it as a Vice President. In 2022, she was elected a board member of the European Young Academies Science Advice Structure, providing science advice to the European Commission, and AcademiaNet led by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Helen Eenmaa specialises in legal and moral philosophy, private law theory, law and economics, technology law, and science and technology studies. She has published in general law journals (European Journal of Risk Regulation, World Comparative Law), specialized technology law journals (Computer Law and Security Review, Stanford Journal for Blockchain Law and Policy), general science journals (Scientific Data, Akadeemia), and journals of legal philosophy (Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence). Since 2013, she has raised 2.7 MEUR in grants for building her academic programmes, and in 2020, she was awarded the Estonian Research Council research grant for studying computable contracts.
