Iiro Eerola is a Policy Officer in the Unit for Valorisation Policies and IPR, Directorate E Prosperity, in DG Research and Innovation, European Commission.
Since joining the Commission services in 2004 he has been working in various positions in the area of health research, personalised medicine, rare diseases and knowledge valorisation policy in DG Research and Innovation.
Eerola is an M.D., Ph.D. by training and holds an MBA. Before joining the Commission services he worked in the Academy of Finland, in the Christian Duve Institute of Cellular Pathology & Université Catholique de Louvain, Brussels, Belgium and at the University of Turku, Finland.
