Rebecca Switzer, M.A., is now retired after spending over 40 years in the fields of mental health and psychological education.
She earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Dallas in 1974, followed by an M.A. from Duquesne University, and became a Licensed Professional Counsellor, specialising in working primarily with children through play therapy. Her work centred on addressing behavioural challenges and learning disabilities in children, as well as supporting the recovery of both children and adults who had experienced trauma, ranging from mild to severe. Her other areas of expertise included depression, PTSD, and anxiety. Rebecca believes that people are not broken, but diverse, and that by using evidence-based treatment methods, combined with a sense of empathy and practicality, people can adapt to and thrive in the world, no matter what brought them to her initially.
