Sally is the Director of Innovation at University College Cork.
She is responsible for the management and commercialisation of UCC’s IP portfolio, technology transfer, entrepreneurship programmes, and business engagement. This includes encouraging a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at the university, the creation and support of spin-outs based on UCC IP, and student/graduate led start-up companies.
Sally has over 25 years experience at the academic-industry interface with research/university positions in Ireland (UCC), Germany (EMBL), USA (UCSF) and in industry (Elan Pharma). She was also the co-founder and initial CEO of a UCC spin-out company, Atlantia Ltd in 201. Sally holds a PhD in lifesciences from EMBL, Germany and a Masters in Technology Management from the Smurfit Business School in University College Dublin.
