Séverine Iffland has joined the University Luxembourg in 2022 as a senior Knowledge and Technology Transfer Officer within the central office for Partnerships, Knowledge and Technology Transfer.
She has built up her KTT experience over 19 years of professional activity covering the entire value chain: From identifying and protecting intellectual property assets towards exploring possible markets and business routes and negotiating licensing contracts with spin-offs, SMEs and multinational companies.
Having graduated in Biochemistry and Innovation Management, she started her career at CNRS Innovation (France), where she was responsible for managing and out licensing an IP portfolio focused on Medical Diagnostics.
She then joined the Public Research Center Henri Tudor in Luxembourg, which later became Luxembourg Institute for Science & Technology, where she has broadened her scope to cover also Materials Sciences and supported the setting up of public-private research partnerships.
Since joining University of Luxembourg, her activity now encompasses a diversity of research fields, mostly developed within the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine and, to a lesser extent, within the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences and University’s Interdisciplinary Centers. In addition to supporting industrial partnerships, Séverine Iffland is particularly involved in maturation projects leading to spin-off creations, and manages the related licensing deals.
