Simon joined Imperial College in 2009, drawing inspiration from Systems Engineering teaching and Doctoral research in neural networks at Oxford, and 15 years of diverse corporate experience encompassing engineering, manufacturing, and software roles at Ford Motor Company and Visteon.
His vision includes positioning Imperial College among the world's top 5 most innovative universities. He has spearheaded transformative initiatives like the Enterprise Lab for student entrepreneurship, Imperial Tech Foresight for future insights, and Imperial Business Partners to link corporations with academics.
His commitment extends to mentoring through Imperial’s Venture Mentoring Service, fostering innovation hubs like White City Incubator and the Advanced Hackspace, and creating impactful programs such as MedTech SuperConnector and WE Innovate for female entrepreneurs. He leads Imperial Enterprise, bringing great ideas to life through partnerships, entrepreneurship, and commercialisation.
