Join this webinar to discuss AI projects and research agreements: navigating contract clauses for managing risk and responsibilities.

Following an enthusiastic response from members, the Legal SIG is regrouping and preparing a schedule of dynamic webinars; this is the first meeting in the latest series.

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape industries, collaborations between academic and corporate research in AI are becoming increasingly common. However, existing research agreement templates often fall short in addressing the unique legal, ethical, and regulatory challenges posed by AI projects.

This discussion will explore how key contractual clauses, such as those related to data usage, intellectual property ownership, and liability, need to adapt to AI-related challenges and evolving regulations like the EU AI Act.

To kick off the discussion, Mira Krämer will share insights from her institution, ETH Zurich, highlighting key topics under consideration for AI research contracts. Together we will exchange views and experiences on how our different institutions are navigating AI research agreements and examine areas where these agreements may benefit from updates in response to emerging issues.
