Jørgen Jakob Friis began his professional career in the IT industry before transitioning into innovation management. From 2011 to 2017, he ran his own business specialising in the cross-cultural design of health technology solutions, with a particular focus on collaboration between Europe and Japan. During this period, he also taught several master’s-level courses in entrepreneurship at the Department of Sports and Clinical Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark.

Since January 2017, he has worked as a Knowledge Transfer Officer (KTO) and Business Developer at the University of Southern Denmark. His work has spanned a wide range of fields, including robotics, drones, SHAPE/SSH, photonics and MedTech. He is currently primarily focused on software and AI-related cases, including digital biomarkers and digital healthcare solutions.

He holds board positions in two spin-out companies that he has helped establish over the years. Throughout his career as a KTO, he has been actively involved with ASTP and obtained full RTTP accreditation in 2024.
