Updated on 30 September 2025.
ASTP is pleased to announce the launch of the European Annual Survey on Knowledge Transfer for financial year 2023 (FY2023). This survey is the most comprehensive Europe-wide effort to capture the activities and outputs of Knowledge Transfer Offices (KTOs) and Public Research Organisations (PROs), helping to benchmark and strengthen the sector across the continent.
For over six years, more than 520 KTOs from 20+ countries have contributed their data, providing valuable insights into trends, best practices, and the overall impact of Knowledge Transfer in Europe. This year, ASTP aims to make the survey even more representative, capturing a wider range of voices from across all member countries.
New this year: Participants can request a customised KTO Insight & Positioning Report, providing tailored feedback based on selected survey questions. This unique feature allows KTOs to gain constructive, organisation-specific insights alongside Europe-wide benchmarking data.
Participation is open to all KTOs and PROs, even if not all data points are available, every response helps create a more complete picture of Knowledge Transfer in Europe.
The deadline to complete the survey has been extended to 20 October 2025. Participants can access the survey online using pre-filled login details, or via a direct access link without login. Detailed instructions and a downloadable questionnaire are available to help respondents prepare their data.
Why participate?
The ASTP Annual Survey provides the only Europe-wide benchmark for KTO performance. The results support institutional decision-making, inform national and European research and innovation strategies, and make the impact of Knowledge Transfer visible to policymakers and the wider community.
ASTP thanks all KTOs and national associations for their continued support and contributions. Together, we can ensure that every country’s voice is heard and that the European Knowledge Transfer landscape is accurately represented.
