• substantial (five years minimum) practical experience in technology transfer, including the management of IPR, licensing and creation of start-up companies
• involvement in wider technology transfer activities (e.g. training, networking, policy setting) within a regional or national setting
• achievement in commercial setting, in industry or a substantial record of doing deals (license, investment, joint venture) with businesses
• a national or international network of contacts in the field of interest of ASTP
• expertise complementary to the current board members
