Constantin Belu

Constantin Belu is Policy Officer at the European Commission, Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (R&I). He is dealing with matters related to the development and implementation of State aid rules of relevance for R&I, with the aim to enhance European R&I and help mobilise private investments in R&I. Constantin is a member of the European Commission’s Task Force for Startups and Scaleups, whose main mission is to make Europe the best place in the world to launch and grow global technology-driven companies.

Constantin has a strong background in competition policy, having worked for a long time in competition law enforcement both at the EU and at national level.

Constantin holds a PhD in Economics granted by the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
