Isabel Gavilanes

Isabel Gavilanes' expertise centers on deep tech technologies with multiple industrial applications, supported by extensive experience in technology valorisation, IP strategy development, and entrepreneurship.

Isabel holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Salamanca and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, an MBA from the Open University of Catalonia, and a Master’s degree in Project Management from the Institute of European Business Studies. Her professional career bridges both the public and private sectors, with experience across research centers, universities, technology centers, and SMEs, including a start-up.

Accredited as a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP), Isabel has more than 25 years of experience in R&D and innovation management, including over 13 years at CSIC, where she has been actively involved in the creation of more than a dozen spin-offs, supported the commercialisation of over 150 technologies, and negotiated more than 500 public–private technology transfer agreements—an activity she remains deeply passionate about today.
