Kirsi Haavisto is head of Unit of Knowledge valorisation and technology infrastructures, Deputy Director in Directorate Prosperity, DG Research and Innovation, European Commission
Kirsi has M.Sc. (Public Health) from University of Helsinki, Department of General Practice and Primary Health Care. She has extensive working experience in the European Commission notably in research and innovation policy. She is currently in charge of fostering policies on knowledge valorisation and technology infrastructures to ensure economic and societal value from EU R&I investments. The Unit develops and designs, jointly with the Member States, stakeholders and international organisations, policies and initiatives making research results work for society.
