Mikkel Sørensen?is an executive leader, founder, investor, and board member operating at the intersection of science, innovation, and business.
Mikkel serves as CEO of?DTU SkyFactory, a subsidiary of the Technical University of Denmark dedicated to accelerating science-based startups onto scale-up trajectories. SkyFactory supports high-potential ventures through strategic development, operational support, access to infrastructure, and capital.
Previously, Mikkel led the establishment, development, and scaling of?DTU Skylab, transforming it from a small pilot initiative into an award-winning university innovation hub with approximately 60 employees and more than 60,000 ft² of innovation facilities. Skylab runs a broad range of innovation programmes and supports thousands of students and around 400 startup projects annually.
Mikkel is a founding member of?Rise Europe, a network of Europe’s leading startup hubs, and a member of the?European Startup and Scaleup Forum?under the EU Commissioner. He is also a business partner in the hard-tech venture fund?TechStation Invest, co-founder of?Stormglas?and?RealBee, and serves on several boards.
Mikkel holds an Executive MBA from DTU, a master’s degree in Modern Culture from the University of Copenhagen, and a master’s degree from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
