Pascale Engel de Abreu

Founder
Pascale Engel de Abreu is Founder of LUMI SIS, as well as Professor of Psychology at the University of Luxembourg, where she is the head of the Socio-Emotional and Cognitive Development Lab.
She is a child psychologist with an established research record in the field of developmental psychology, focusing on language, reading and socio-emotional development, as well as memory and executive function processes.
Pascale has a strong public engagement profile, particularly in relation to her work with language-minority children and with children who experience early adversity and learning challenges. She founded the research spin-off LUMI "d´utilité publique", with the aim to contribute to accelerating the translation of research innovations into practice and policy.
Her work is driven by the overall goal to produce science-based solutions that can lead to better life outcomes for children at risk for long-term disadvantage.
