Shona D'Arcy

An experienced researcher in speech recognition technology, Shona successfully transitioned into healthtech research and enterprise roles. She joined the founding team at Neuromod Devices, where she contributed to generating clinical validation evidence supporting patient usability and regulatory approvals. Continuing her entrepreneurial journey, Shona founded the healthtech start-up Kids Speech Labs, aiming to transform an area of healthcare that has been largely overlooked in the digital revolution.

Throughout her research and entrepreneurial career, she has been deeply involved in the Irish healthtech ecosystem, an engagement that has expanded further through her current role at EIT Health. Shona has extensive experience within the UK and European spin-out ecosystems and, with EIT, recently led the organisation’s first university spin-out programme, the Deep Tech Venture Builder.
