The recent Thematic Event in Leiden highlighted the growing interest in start-ups and spin-offs originating from universities and research centres. Florian Kirschenhofer, Senior Start-up & Portfolio Manager at Max Planck Innovation GmbH, introduced his initiative for a Spin-off SIG (Special Interest Group) during the event and was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees eager to participate.
ASTP is excited to announce that Florian has volunteered to lead this new initiative. “The Spin-off SIG will serve as a dedicated platform for discussions on start-up creation, support models, and best practices across Europe,” Florian shared. “It will provide members with insights into the various approaches to start-up support within universities and research institutions and aims to establish role models to help SIG members further develop their organisations.”
Florian is now looking for additional volunteers to help coordinate and shape the future of the Spin-off SIG. If you’re interested in a coordinating role or simply joining as a member, please contact Arlyta for more information at arlyta.wibowo-kruzinga@astp4kt.eu
The SIG is open to individuals from Entrepreneurship Centres, Knowledge/Technology Transfer Offices, and other organisations engaged in supporting spin-offs, academic and student start-ups.
Stay tuned for updates on upcoming meetings and initiatives as we launch this dynamic community dedicated to advancing spin-off support in the knowledge transfer field.
