Travel Thoughtfully: Small Gestures,…
As the holiday season continues, a little cultural awareness can make every journey more rewarding.
Knowledge transfer professionals increasingly work across intellectual asset management, knowledge valorisation, entrepreneurship, and standardisation. The Horizon Europe-funded IAM4RE project has developed a set of complementary learning formats to help researchers, innovation professionals, and knowledge transfer practitioners build these capabilities.
Depending on your role, level of experience, and organisational needs, you can use the MOOC to establish a shared foundation, join the Training Suite Deep Dives to expand your expertise in specific areas, or use the Train-the-Trainer Programme to build sustainable training capacity within your own institution.
Below, we introduce three IAM4RE learning formats that may be interesting for you:
If you are looking for a ready-made resource to introduce researchers, doctoral candidates, spin-off teams, or new colleagues to the fundamentals of knowledge valorisation, the IAM4RE MOOC is an excellent place to start. It is a self-paced, eight-module course covering research capacity building, knowledge valorisation strategies, intellectual asset management, entrepreneurship and commercialisation, standardisation, research management, and strategic impact planning. Short videos, applied learning activities, and quizzes allow participants to build a practical foundation at their own pace.
For TTOs and KTOs, the MOOC can serve as a ready-made onboarding and preparatory resource for researchers, project teams, members of academic spin-offs, and professionals who are new to knowledge valorisation. It helps establish a shared vocabulary and basic understanding before participants move on to more specialised training or tailored institutional support.

If you are interested in deepening your expertise in a particular knowledge transfer topic and exchanging experiences with experts and peers, the IAM4RE Deep Dives are designed for you. These are live, expert-led sessions based on the project’s twelve-module Training Suite. They move beyond introductory awareness by combining focused expert input with practical examples, case-based application, reflection, and discussion.
The sessions cover topics across the full knowledge valorisation pathway, including intellectual asset management, licensing and commercialisation, standardisation, market and industry analysis, legal and compliance issues, funding and investment, business development and entrepreneurship, open innovation, communication and outreach, project and innovation management, impact, and data management.
The flexible format allows professionals to select the sessions most relevant to their role, develop expertise in a new area, or refresh and update their existing knowledge.

Would your organisation like to reuse the IAM4RE resources in its own training, researcher development, or internal capacity-building activities? The IAM4RE Train-the-Trainer Programme is designed for TTO and KTO professionals, research managers, innovation support staff, and other institutional multipliers who want to adapt and deliver IAM4RE learning within their own organisational context.
Building on the existing IAM4RE resources, the programme focuses on facilitation, audience adaptation, learning-pathway design, interactive delivery, and the evaluation of learning outcomes. Its six modules are complemented by practical trainer materials, including guidance, assessment and implementation tools, checklists, and case studies.
The resources allow them to build internal expertise, tailor learning to different audiences, and embed intellectual asset management, knowledge valorisation, and standardisation more systematically across teams and institutional practices.

Choose the format that matches your current need: build a shared foundation through the MOOC, deepen your topic-specific expertise through the Training Suite Deep Dives, or multiply the learning within your organisation through the Train-the-Trainer Programme.
