The Agrifood SIG serves as a platform for knowledge transfer professionals to navigate the complex challenges of commercialising research-based innovations across the global food supply chain. Discussions and activities span regenerative agriculture, aquaculture, urban farming, and circular waste systems, extending further into sustainable packaging, distribution, digital traceability, nutrition, and novel food product development.

Achieving the ultimate goal—viable, scalable spinouts and start-ups—requires a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach. The SIG provides a space to identify opportunities together with industry partners, helping to mitigate risks linked to the commercialisation of high-tech, research-driven innovations. By supporting the development of quality pilot projects and scalable ventures, the group fosters sustainable business models that can transform the future of food.
