Europe excels in fundamental research, yet too few discoveries reach the market. Many promising projects stall in the “Valley of Death,” where resources, incentives, and support for technology maturation are limited. While spin-offs attract significant attention, they are not always the right path, especially within Europe’s fragmented and under-resourced innovation landscape.

This webinar series showcases practical private, public, and hybrid models that help biomedical projects overcome these hurdles and move more effectively toward commercialisation.

In the fourth session of our series, Industry open innovation programs for collaboration with academia, Jiri Keirsse, Head of Innovation Strategy & Public Private Partnerships, and Toshal Patel, Head of Scouting and Partnering, from UCB will discuss the opportunities and challenges for academia-industry co-development in Europe, with a focus on the role of KTOs and the expectations from industry on that process.

This webinar is organised by the BioMedical SIG and supported by UCB. Join the BioMedical SIG to stay informed.
