4iP Council | IP Gone Wrong: What to do Differently

Organised by 4iP Council, EUIPO, and Eurojuris, Claus Heide Andersen and Lisa Jefferiss examine a real-life SME case to demonstrate the consequences of overlooking intellectual property.

On 18 June 2026, 16:00 – 17:00 CEST, 4IP council will present “IP Gone Wrong: What to Do Differently,” organised in collaboration with EUIPO and Eurojuris. Given our shared commitment to supporting the innovation ecosystem, we would highly appreciate your support in sharing this event with your network.

As the saying goes: Smart people learn from their mistakes. Wise people learn from the mistakes of others. Since IP mistakes can be incredibly costly, this session is designed to help companies avoid common pitfalls.

During this webinar, experts Claus Heide Andersen and Lisa Jefferiss will discuss a real-life case study of an SME that faced severe legal disputes, business risks, and unnecessary expenses due to misunderstandings about patents and trademarks. Through an interactive conversation, participants will learn about the impact of overlooking IP and, most importantly, what could have been done differently. Additionally, the webinar will highlight free tools and services provided by EUIPO to help SMEs build an effective IP strategy right from the start.
