European Commission: Community of Practice on Multidisciplinary Research Uptake

European Commission: Community of Practice on Multidisciplinary Research Uptake

The European Commission is launching a Community of Practice to develop recommendations that strengthen the uptake and valorisation of multidisciplinary research and innovation results across Europe.

The European Commission invites research and innovation stakeholders to express their interest in joining a Community of Practice focused on increasing the uptake and valorisation of multidisciplinary research and innovation results.

Running from October to November 2026, the Community of Practice will bring together researchers, knowledge transfer professionals, policymakers, funders, and other innovation stakeholders to exchange best practices and co-create recommendations that will inform future European Commission policy guidance. Discussions will explore practical and structural approaches to strengthening the uptake of multidisciplinary research, including Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), and enhancing its contribution to societal, economic, and policy impact.

The initiative forms part of the European Research Area (ERA) Policy Agenda 2025–2027, supporting the action Upscaling knowledge valorisation capacities and activities.

Participation will take place through four online meetings between September and December 2026, with opportunities for participants to share experiences and contribute to the development of future policy recommendations.
