European Commission: Community of Practice for Knowledge Valorisation Intermediaries

The European Commission is establishing a Community of Practice to develop a European competence framework for knowledge valorisation intermediaries. The initiative brings together research and innovation stakeholders to share expertise and inform future policy guidance.

The European Commission invites research and innovation stakeholders to express their interest in joining a Community of Practice for developing the competence framework for knowledge valorisation intermediaries.

Running from September to November 2026, the Community of Practice will bring together professionals from across the European research and innovation ecosystem to exchange experiences, share best practices, and contribute to the development of a European competence framework for knowledge valorisation intermediaries. The framework aims to strengthen organisational capabilities and support professionals who facilitate the translation of research into societal, economic, and policy impact.

The initiative forms part of the European Research Area (ERA) Policy Agenda 2025–2027, supporting the action Upscaling knowledge valorisation capacities and activities to strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and public authorities.

Participation takes place through approximately four to five online meetings between September and November 2026. The call is open to all research and innovation stakeholders, with particular relevance for knowledge transfer offices, incubators, innovation hubs, IP professionals, research organisations, policymakers, investors, and science engagement professionals.
