The session will explain how the CPVR system operates, outline its legal and administrative framework, and highlight its importance in promoting innovation, protecting breeders, and supporting the development of new plant varieties.

Participants will also be guided through the procedures for obtaining protection, the scope of the rights granted, and the broader relevance of plant variety protection for sustainable and competitive agriculture throughout Europe.
